Purchased my Fiesta 2011 SE last July 4th. Love the car, however, ever since I got it, it's been making a grinding noise, then, it started missing, surging, all kinds of problems, until it seemed like it was missing gears...sluggish...no power. Took it back to the dealer, and they said it's definately got a problem....so, they changed the entire clutch assembly, however, it's still making a grinding noise...they told me, it might always make this noise, however, when I first got the car, it didn't do this...I'm very unhappy, always afraid it's going to break down, and wanted to drive to Kentucky to visit my son, daughter in law and grand daughter and I can't, I'm afraid, it's going to break down again....
I fear I am paying for a lemon...and don't know what to do...it's very stressful. But I must say, the repair people were extremely nice to me, rented me a car right away...but, it doesn't compensate for the problem still being there, and the fear of it breaking down again. I don't know what to do.

I have the same car and I am having the same problem and don't know what to do about it as well. I personally think Ford should recall them, I've seen more horror stories with a google search with the same problems. First the car starts doing this and eventually the transmission goes. Well I am going to call my dealer tommorrow, it just started grinding tonight, and I only have 77,000 miles on it and it is a 2 yr lease. Previously took it to the mechanic for the surging problem and he took some coating off the battery terminals to see if that would fix it, but it just seems like it made it worse on grinding but less on the surging.

I bought my 2011 fiesta in June of 2011 and I have had nothing but problems with the transmission, I have had it to ford 3 times for the same problem. They replaced the clutch but that didn't solve the problem either. When I first bought my fiesta I was getting 47 miles to a gallon and now after "the update they did" I now get 28 miles to a gallon. Yesterday I almost got killed because my car stalled and would not move in the middle of the road and I almost got hit by another car. Every time I take my car to ford (several different ford dealerships) I'm told thats normal to hear a grinding noise and the jerking of the shifting. Yea right..... its normal for the car to stall in the middle of the road and have absolutely no power to accelerate when it is driving. All I have to say is there will be a HUGE lawsuit when I get in an accident from this "NORMAL" function of the transmission. Ford doesn't want to help me in anyway probably because this will fall under the "lemon law" they would rather risk a customers life.
I am really wishing I had bought a standard manual shift instead of this automatic transmission with all these problems.
use to LOVE my fiesta and now.......................HATE THE TRANSMISSION.
