Frankfurt Auto Show: Ford Sees Fiesta as U.S. Hit
Ford’s new Fiesta compact has helped the company boost its market share in Europe to 8.1% in August, the highest in more than a decade. But will the spiffy redesign also be a hit in the U.S. when it goes on sale next year?
Speaking to a small group of reporters at the Frankfurt Auto Show, Ford execs said they’re encouraged by the response from about 100 U.S. consumers who have been driving the Fiesta five-door on a test basis. “We feel extremely confident that we have a compelling package,” said Jim Farley, Ford group vice president of global marketing.
